The program aims to help disengaged students from Years 7-10 to reintegrate with learning and reduce the risk of them dropping out or leaving the school system altogether.
The News understands less than a dozen students are planned to be on the campus from next week, while up to half a dozen teachers will be on site.
Students will be bussed in to the site, with the program to be moved to the Hawdon St campus from 2022.
Each student will be given an individual learning plan to build skills around numeracy and literacy, supplemented by activities in the agricultural and horticultural space.
Staff will also develop ‘behavioural goals’ with the students, with the aim to bring them back into the mainstream classroom after six months.
The Department of Education was contacted for comment.
