Fresh off claiming a reserves Goulburn Valley League premiership flag with the Seymour Lions last season, teammates Max Jones, Tom Martin and Jordan Zuccala will once again line up together, albeit in the Swans’ red and white jumper.
Jones, a half-forward, took out the GVL reserves league goalkicker with 57 majors last year and will be a key component to a Swans’ forward structure missing senior coach Kasey Duncan (injury) and Angus Durnan (departure).
Down the other end of the field will be Martin, a strong half-back who could fill one of the voids left by departing skipper Michael Tinkler and Michael Morgan.
Rounding out the trio, Zuccala will look to return to senior football after spending 2018 in the Lions’ senior side as a small forward and winger, before managing an injury-riddled 2019.
In a further boost for the Swans, the club will also welcome Ryland Head into the fold. A senior half-back who comes across from Trentham, Head will further bolster the Swans’ defensive stocks this season.
● Nagambie will be without two of its star players next season, with Blake and Nathan Fothergill set to test their skills in the Goulburn Valley League with Shepparton United.
In a standout year for the Lakers, Blake took out best-on-ground honours in the Lakers’ premiership win over Tallygaroopna, as well as the club's best-and-fairest award.
